The SA:MP roleplay community was taken by surprise this May with the news that the legendary LS-RP (Los Santos Roleplay) server is back in GTA SA:MP. After a period of inactivity that left many fans disheartened, the LS-RP team announced the return through a video on the server's official YouTube channel, promising a new era of immersion and innovation in the roleplay world.
That's right. LS-RP is officially back in SA:MP, and the server will be online starting from May 17th, 2024. Coincidentally, this date will mark the 17th anniversary since the community was created. And also, with great pride, we will add the server to our list of traditional SA-MP servers online in 2024.
LS-RP is one of the most iconic servers in SA:MP, known for its dedicated community and the quality of the roleplay experience it offers. It has always been, without a doubt, the most well-known and played text-based heavy roleplay server in the world. Since its inception, LS-RP has stood out for its strict rules, which ensured an authentic and engaging simulation of life in Los Santos, the fictional city inspired by Los Angeles.
For years, the server was a meeting point for players from all over the world, who created complex characters and engaging stories. The attention to detail and commitment to authenticity made LS-RP a reference in the roleplay world.
In 2021, the server was shut down, which was a heavy blow to the community. In an official statement, the team had informed that due to a lack of player interest and funding, they were forced to shut down the SA-MP server after more than 14 years. Additionally, they migrated the LS-RP project to GTA V, the new trend at the time. For many, this represented the death of SA:MP.
During these three years of the server being offline, many players lamented its closure and missed the good times in YouTube video comments. Despite GTA V boasting high-quality graphics and advanced systems, for many players, the roleplay experience in San Andreas offers gameplay much closer to real life and a richer interpretive setting.
The news of LS-RP's return in 2024 brought a wave of enthusiasm and nostalgia. The server team announced that they had been working hard to resolve previous issues and implement significant improvements. Check out the updates and more information on the server's official forum.

Coincidentally, we also came across the news that LS-RP PT (the PT-BR language server for Brazilian and Portuguese players) will also return to SA-MP. The team has already announced the return and is working on developing the gamemode with many new features. We will bring updates as more information becomes available, but you can follow the progress more closely on Discord, Facebook page, YouTube Channel and the official website.
